Dreams Puerto Aventuras offers an elaborate array of outstanding included recreation and sports activities. In addition to a secluded pearly-sand beach, two swimming pools (one a natural salt water pool), resort activities include yoga and aerobics classes, ping pong, beach volleyball, guided bicycle tours, bocce ball, painting and ceramics classes, dance lessons, an ocean trampoline, a Euro-bungee, ocean climbing iceberg, shuffleboard and an introductory diving clinic in the pool. A variety of included water sports is available on the beach or by the pool such as snorkeling, windsurfing, catamarans, kayaks and water aerobics. An onsite Gold Palm certified diving center can arrange scuba and snorkeling excursions or lessons for an additional cost. Golf lovers can arrange tee times with resort concierge at the nearby Golf Club at Playacar championship golf course.
The Golf Club at Playacar
Offers the perfect combination of natural and manmade beauty. This magnificent course, carved out of the dense Mayan jungle, is only a few hundred yards away from the crystal-clear, turquoise ocean and the fine white sands. The intelligent architectural design of the golf course has converted Playa del Carmen into one of the most popular golf destinations in all of Mexico. The course is 7202 yards, par 72, and was designed by Robert Von Hagge. With a slope rating of 148 from the championship tees, 136 from the white tees and 134 from the red tees, it is as challenging to play as it is beautiful to view.
Before beginning each round, golfers can warm up at the world-class practice area. Along with a driving range that will accommodate even the longest of hitters, there is an excellent short-game area inclduing a large putting green complete with chipping and pitching areas, as well as a green side sand bunker.
Playacar Golf Club offers private round trip transportation from anywhere in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area for only US$20 per person. Air-conditioned vans can seat up to 10 golfers and their clubs comfortably. Tee time reservations must be made at least one day in advance through the hotel's concierge.
