All Inclusive Resort Trends

All inclusive resorts have come a long way from when they first arrived on the vacation scene. Today’s all inclusive resort offers a variety of new trends that appeal to broad market. New features like branded spas and children’s programs, a la carte restaurants, and concierge service offer travelers a wide range of diversified products.

Better Cuisine
There is so much more than the traditional big buffet. Many all inclusive resorts are “feeding” their guests growing interest in the epicurean department. The Royal Hideaway Playacar, for example, features a top rated chef. Karisma Resorts bills itself as “Gourmet Inclusive” and many other resorts offer several a la carte dining choices.

In a recent trip to the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun my family and I dined on gourmet Northern Italian cuisine at La Trattoria and sumptuous Asian cuisine at Mo-Mo-Na-Ha-Na. While all of the food at the Moon Palace was excellent, these two restaurants stood out.

Family Travel
From rooms that will accommodate 5 (two adults and three children) to water-parks, many all inclusive resorts cater to families. Supervised children’s clubs, family activities, teen clubs, game rooms and arcades – these are the ingredients for a happy family vacation. Many resorts have zero-entry pools so little ones don’t have to navigate stairs and family suites complete with kid themed rooms.

Beaches Negril and Beaches Turks & Caicos offer fabulous children’s programs, teen clubs, water parks, along with big brands such as Sesame Street and Crayola.

Groups
Many all inclusive resorts are expanding their definition of a group to parties as little as 10 to 20 guests. More and more family reunion types or grandparents wanting to take the whole gang on vacations are now easily accommodated as a group with added values.

Luxury
Think concierge and butler service. Upscale amenities. Private chefs. Upscale cuisine. The luxury all inclusive resort, such as The Royal in Cancun or Le Blanc offer everything you can thing of for a luxury hotel experience.

Entertainment
Brand name entertainment, sports, professional instruction and more.

The all inclusive vacation is becoming more exciting as time goes on.
